Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated individual to become part of our golf maintenance team. The Assistant Superintendent will assist the Superintendent in all aspects of daily course maintenance including; crew leadership, supervision and quality control of our product; fertilizer/pesticide applications; irrigation troubleshooting/repair; moisture level management/monitoring and project management. A typical workweek (peak season) generally involves overtime and weekend days in all types of weather conditions.

Compensation/Benefits

This is a full-time, salaried position with a range up to 40k annually. Health, dental/vision and life insurance benefits. Paid vacation and sick leave. IMRF participation. Paid professional association dues and golfing privileges.

Job Requirements

  • A two or four-year degree in Agronomy emphasizing turfgrass management
  • 2-3 years golf course experience preferably as a First Assistant
  • Illinois pesticide operators license (or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire)
  • Valid (Illinois) driver’s license

We are a 25+ year old golf club, highly respected in the Chicagoland area, seeking a knowledgeable, ambitious, self-motivated person with a passion for the golf industry. Golf course experience preferred. Must have a valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

This is a seasonal position starting in April and ending in November/December. Employees will be eligible for the Illinois Municipal Retirement Fund (IMRF). Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Mowing of greens, tees, fairways and rough
  • Raking bunkers
  • Assisting with golf course set up and operations
  • Assisting with fertilizer/pesticide applications (Illinois spray license is a plus)
  • Irrigation operation and repair (experience a plus)
  • General landscape maintenance practices

Compensation

  • $15.00 – $18.00 per hour, with possible overtime

Prairie Landing is accepting resumes for the seasonal position of Starter/Marshal. The Starter/Marshal ensures golfers begin their rounds at the appropriate time while maintaining pace of play on the course. Candidates must be a minimum of 18 years of age and have a valid driver license. They must have a great attitude toward customer service to help ensure that guests have an enjoyable round of golf and all groups do their best to keep pace with others.

Compensation

  • $8.50-$9 per hour, 16-24 hours per week, includes limited golf privileges
