Job Description

The position of Banquet Event Coordinator would be responsible to coordinate and service all weddings, golf outings and special events to the client’s specifications while adhering to all policies and procedures. Act as the first point of contact for brides and grooms and maintain the relationship throughout the wedding planning process through event date. This position reports to the Food & Beverage Operations Manager

The Banquet Event Coordinator must have the ability to manage multiple events simultaneously and the desire to create strategic partnerships with clients, event planners, and outside vendors. The successful candidate will be a team player and skilled leader, with the ability to work alongside several different departments in a common commitment to achieving and exceeding goals. • Coordinates appointments and scheduling of events. • Produces an outline of the event’s needs, also called the BEO (Banquet Event Order), to include event details, i.e. private space, food and drink accommodations, timeline audio-visual and other vendor-guest needs. Creates guest contact based on BEO. • Creates and revises room layouts for each event. • Conduct post-event follow-up to ensure guest’s satisfaction. • Consistently meet and exceed sales goals by soliciting, negotiating, developing, and booking new and repeat business through various efforts (cold calling, outside sales calls, referrals, networking, etc.) • Actively upsell each business opportunity to maximize revenue opportunity • Monitor and handle inquiry calls on a timely basis and use negotiating skills and creative selling abilities to close on business and negotiate contracts • Partner with the Food & Beverage Operations Manager to create customized menus to fit client’s needs as well as increase food & beverage revenues • Builds and strengthens relationships with partners and clients to strengthen and expand customer base for future sales opportunities • Act as liaison between event managers, outside vendors, and clients to ensure clear communication and successful execution for every event Skills and Abilities for Success: • Driven, personable, organized, and outgoing • A customer-centered approach to sales and service • Knowledge of current industry trends • Keeps inventory of banquet materials.• Excellent oral and written communication skills • Very strong organizational skills and follow-through • Creative skills to provide innovative solutions and strong presentation skills • Excellent people and management skills to interact with staff, cross-functional teams, and third-party vendors • Coordinates the upkeep of the Catering Facility including scheduling regular cleaning, equipment inventories, recommend Capital purchases, and recommend improvements as needed • Any and all other duties assigned by Food & Beverage Operations Manager and/or General Manager

Job Requirements

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality or Business Administration preferred
  • 2 or more years of previous experience required, preferably in hospitality or food & beverage industry
  • Ability to work with flexible schedule
  • Nights and Weekends are required
  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screening

Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated individual to become part of our golf maintenance team. The Assistant Superintendent will assist the Superintendent in all aspects of daily course maintenance including; crew leadership, supervision and quality control of our product; fertilizer/pesticide applications; irrigation troubleshooting/repair; moisture level management/monitoring and project management. A typical workweek (peak season) generally involves overtime and weekend days in all types of weather conditions.

Compensation/Benefits

This is a full-time, salaried position with a range up to 40k annually. Health, dental/vision and life insurance benefits. Paid vacation and sick leave. IMRF participation. Paid professional association dues and golfing privileges.

Job Requirements

  • A two or four-year degree in Agronomy emphasizing turfgrass management
  • 2-3 years golf course experience preferably as a First Assistant
  • Illinois pesticide operators license (or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire)
  • Valid (Illinois) driver’s license
